The United Kingdom includes England, Scotland, Wales and
Northern Ireland. It is the second most popular tourist destination in
the European Union.
Although not part of continental Europe, the UK is connected to the continent via the Channel Tunnel.
London is one of Europe's major transportation hubs and is a base for
many of the European discount airlines that offer inexpensive flights to
cities throughout the EU.
Unlike many other EU countries, the UK does not use the Euro
as its currency. The Pound Sterling is the national currency.
