Slovakia (Slovak Republic) is one of the EU's newest member states.
Formerly part of Soviet eastern block, Slovakia joined the European Union in
2004. It is rapidly becoming a major European tourist destinations,
thanks in part to it close proximity to Vienna Austria. Bratislava is
the capital city of the Slovak Republic.
